The boundaries of theatre are becoming increasingly blurred. Today's theatre makers are experimenting with forms of performance that explore these boundaries. Authentic, real stories form the starting point. Actor and character merge. The audience is involved in an open conversation. And yet it remains theatre, and therefore, by definition, 'not real'. The actors seek forms, alienation, condensation, making the performance more universal than the photos from your last trip.
In this theatre lab, we explore the potential of this contemporary theatre form with a rich history. We discover the necessary acting style, search for material and put together short docu-theatre pieces. Theatre lab is a special type of course. The teacher acts primarily as a coach in an open space (physically and mentally). He provides the conditions and structures the work moments with assignments. The participants are co-creators and co-players. They conduct their own research throughout the lab.
No experience with documentary theatre needed.
